OSHA Standards
The following is a brief synopsis of the requirements of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for workplace emergency response planning. OSHA has a number of mandatory standards which apply to private sector and Federal workplaces in Wisconsin which relate directly to workplace emergency response planning. These include:
- The emergency action plan (EAP)
- OSHA Requirements for Fire Prevention Plan
- Employee alarm systems
- Portable fire extinguishers
- OSHA Hazard Communication standard
- OSHA Hazardous Waste Site and Emergency Response standard
